The Economy Behind Amazon's Alexa. What devolopers are getting paid to make Alexa smarter.

C|net’s Ben Fox Rubin explores the community of developers behind the skills you use on your Amazon Echo. Some are receiving credits to cover server costs, others are making close to $10,000 a month. There are indie developers, marketing companies, and major brands all trying to cash in on the voice-controlled device.

The market is expected to hit $50 million in 2018, nowhere near the mobile app economy but it’s growing at a faster rate.
